Garden-based learning research partners horticulture researchers with human-development researchers and others to implement integrated research and extension efforts that address youth development skills and assets gained through gardening activities. We examine existing research in the area of youth gardening and apply it to program planning, development and implementation. Implement program evaluation approaches with all major projects, using a process of systematic data-based inquiry, the methods of which include interviews, surveys, case studies, observations, and focus groups.
