Undergraduate advising in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is decentralized to permit close interaction between a student and a faculty advisor with similar professional interests.
In horticulture, academic advisors are assigned by the department, usually before the student comes to campus. However, students can choose another faculty member for an advisor with his/her consent.
If a change of advisor is made, notice must be sent to the College so student records are sent to the active advisor. Contact Wendy Wirth (waw3@cornell.edu 134A Plant Science).
Information on courses and course scheduling is available on the CALS website (www.cals.cornell.edu/advising) , the University's Courses of Study website, as well as in the Courses of Study catalog or CD and the Course and Time Rosters distributed before each pre-registration period.
