I am the Director of Education for the Cornell Botanic Gardens and a Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture. My academic work focuses on aspects of public garden management, specifically educational programs, and plants and human well being, specifically the use of plants to improve schools and communities.

Teaching Focus

I teach teach a 200-level course in Horticulture, "Plants and Human Well Being," that exposes students to the multiple ways that we interact with plants and plant products in order to increase their awareness of the many non-traditional career and avocational opportunities within the field of Horticulture. I also contribute to Hort 4850 "Public Garden Management", coordinate Hort 4800 "Plantations Lecture Series", and offer independent studies relating to public garden education and plants and human well being.
